OIL PRIMARY CONTROL #8980

The Oil Primary Control is mounted on top of the burners electrical box. It works in conjunction with the thermostat, and the cad cell. When the thermostat calls for heat the Oil Primary Control starts the burner by switching on the solenoid valve, ignition transformer, combustion air blower, and the fuel pump. If the cad cell fails to see a flame the Oil Primary Control will shut the burner off after 30 seconds. After another 90 seconds the Oil Primary Control will attempt to restart the burner. If a flame is not established in 30 seconds the Oil Primary Control will lock out on safety, and will have to be manually reset.

The Vacuum Gauge is installed on the suction side of the fuel line. It us used to show when the primary strainer needs cleaning. The normal operating range is 1"-6" Hg. When the Vacuum gauge reads above this it may be time to clean the element in the primary strainer.
